Ntamwira Bagula Jules works for INERA (Institut National pour l’Etude et la Recherche Agronomiques in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) since 2004. He obtained his Agronomist Engineer degree from the Institut Facultaire des sciences Agronomiques de Yangambi (I.F.A. /Yangambi) at Kisangani in 2002. He got his Master degree from the I.F.A. /Yangambi in Kisangani DR Congo in 2013 and his PhD at the University of Kisangani in 2021. His PhD works dealt with the Management of Renewable Natural Resources.

He is a consultant to the Alliance of Bioversity-CIAT since 2006 to date, in charge of banana germplams evaluation in South Kivu, banana cropping systems, banana bacterial wilt disease research in South Kivu and in Rwanda. He leads trials on agro-ecological practices and leads capacity building of farmers, partners and extension staff, on proven and best-fit technologies in the framework of One CGIAR Initiative “West and Central Africa Transforming Agri-food Systems (WCA)” and contributes to the 2024 Plant Health Initiative.

He contributed to the writing of some forty scientific papers including banana germplasm evaluation, banana diseases and cropping systems.

He participated in trainings, meetings, survey, and conferences in 5 countries from 2005 to 2014. Currently, he is leading the Banana Program at INERA/Mulungu research station in South Kivu Province, East of DR Congo.
